Medication Information for new patients

Witton Street Surgery has strict policies in place for the safe prescribing of medication.

If you are taking any of medication listed below you will be reviewed by a GP or the practice pharmacist and a programme put in place with you to reduce and then discontinue them.

The medications included are:

• Tramadol
• Sleeping tablets, including but not limited to, zopiclone & zolpidem
• Benzodiazepines, including, but not limited to, diazepam, lorazepam, temazepam

Anti-inflammatory medications, such as naproxen, are not added to repeat prescriptions but can be ordered as required.
